Greetings to the players of CubixWorld!


In this guide, I would like to share my knowledge about one of the components of Binnieu2019's Mods, namely Genetics. The guide is aimed at players who have experience playing with the Forestry mod and know what selection, mutation, and hybridization are.


The term Sample will appear later in the text. Sample – is an item that carries genetic information, namely: larva, drone, princess, queen, butterfly, pollen (from a flower, tree), flower, sprout, seedling.


The main information about the mechanism can be learned directly in the game. To do this, you need to hover the mouse cursor over the slot/tank/progress bar in the mechanism's interface and press Tab.


I.Items:

Empty Sequence – a storage for data obtained in the Isolator.

Flask without serum – a flask for polymerizing a specific gene and its subsequent use in the Inoculator or Splicer.

Array without serum – a set of flasks that can store an unlimited number of genes. It is also used for subsequent grafting of genes in the Inoculator and Splicer.

DNA Dye – a substance necessary for the operation of the Analyzer.

Fluorophore – a substance necessary for the operation of the Sequencer.

Enzyme – a substance necessary for the operation of the Isolator, DNA Extractor, and is also used in crafting the Isolator itself.

Nutrient Medium – an ingredient necessary for creating a liquid nutrient medium.

Integrated Circuit Board – a component necessary for creating many items and mechanisms.

Integrated Processor – a component necessary for creating the Splicer.

Integrated Case - a component necessary for creating the Splicer.

Empty Cylinder – a capsule for transporting many liquids.

Reinforced Case - a component necessary for creating many mechanisms and the integrated case.

Gene Database – a portable database that allows you to find out the list of genes that you have obtained in the Sequencer, as well as to obtain a flask and an array with serum.

Analyst – a handheld analyzer that combines analyzers for bees, trees, butterflies, and flowers (Botany). It uses DNA Dye for its operation. Much more convenient than standard analyzers.

File Cabinet – an item that combines the existing four databases, allowing you to view the properties, mutations, and genes of all analyzed bees, trees, butterflies, and flowers.


II.Mechanisms:

The excess fluids in the internal tanks of the mechanisms can be extracted by right-clicking with any fluid storage item while hovering over the tank.


Isolator – a mechanism that allows obtaining an undecoded gene sequence. The chance of losing the sample being studied is by default 30%.

For its operation, it requires:

  • Sample;
  • Ethanol – 10mB;
  • Empty sequence;
  • Enzyme (1 enzyme – 2 studies);

Energy consumption: 1,920,000RF for one study;

Working time: 4 minutes.


Analyzer – a mechanism that allows decoding the gene sequence obtained in the Isolator. It also replaces the Forestry analyzer and handheld analyzers.

For its operation, it requires:

  • Undecoded gene sequence;
  • DNA Dye (3 dyes for 5 analysis operations);

Energy consumption: 90,000RF for one study;

Working time: 15 seconds.


DNA Extractor – a mechanism that transforms samples into Raw DNA.

Table of sample correspondence and the amount of Raw DNA obtained:

  • Drone – 10mB;
  • Princess – 30mB;
  • Queen – 50mB;
  • Larva – 30mB;
  • Flower pollen – 10mB;
  • Tree pollen – 10mB;
  • Flower – 10mB;
  • Sprout – 10mB;
  • Seedling – 10mB;
  • Butterfly – 10mB;

For its operation, it requires:

  • 12 mB Ethanol for 10mB Raw DNA;
  • Sample;
  • Enzyme;

Energy consumption: 80,000RF for one cleavage;

Working time: 20 seconds.


Incubator – a mechanism necessary for creating many liquids and items for other mechanisms. To begin operation, the incubator must contain 500mB of liquid. When creating the final product, there is a chance that the original components will not be spent.

Liquids and items:

Water + 1 Nutrient Medium = Liquid Nutrient Medium

Liquid Nutrient Medium + 1 Larva = Drone

Liquid Nutrient Medium + 1 Wheat = Bacteria

Bacteria + 1 Sugar = 1 Enzyme

Bacteria + 1 Bone Meal = Polymerized Bacteria

Bacteria + 1 Fire Powder = Vector Bacteria

For its operation, it requires:

  • Liquid;
  • Item;

Energy consumption: 20RF/tick;

Working time: depends on the resources placed.


Polymerizer – a mechanism for enhancing DNA sequences. The process can be accelerated by using gold nuggets. The gene sequence can be enhanced 5 times, while the Unfilled serum/ Unfilled array can be enhanced 16 times. Enhancement allows exploring the sequence in the Sequencer much faster; in the case of Serum or Array - allows for repeated use.

For its operation, it requires:

  • Unfilled serum/ Unfilled array/ Analyzed gene sequence;
  • Polymerized bacteria;
  • Raw DNA;

Energy consumption: 192,000RF for enhancement by one step of one gene;

Working time: 24 seconds for enhancement by one step of one gene.*

*If the array has 13 genes, then the total working time of the mechanism will be 13*24s.= 312s.= 5min. 12s. for 1 polymerization operation, and energy consumption 13*192,000RF = 2,496,000RF.


Sequencer – a mechanism necessary for recording genes in the player's gene database. All sequenced genes will be recorded in the player's gene bank who set the mechanism.

For its operation, it requires:

  • Gene sequence (preferably polymerized);
  • Fluorophore;

Energy consumption: 960,000RF for one charge;

Working time: 4 minutes.


Laboratory Stand – a mechanism for storing handheld devices (analyst, file cabinet, portable databases, gene database) not in the inventory but in the world, maintaining full access to them. For this, the player needs to hold a handheld device in their hands and right-click on the laboratory stand. 1 laboratory stand accommodates 1 handheld device.


Inoculator – a mechanism necessary for grafting genes to larvae and pollen.

For its operation, it requires:

  • Polymerized flask with gene/ array of genes;
  • Larva/ Pollen;
  • Vector Bacteria;

Energy consumption: 6,000,000RF – 1 gene;

Working time: 10 minutes – 1 gene.**

**If the array has 13 genes, then the total working time of the mechanism will be 13*10min.= 130 min. for 1 gene grafting operation, and energy consumption 13*6,000,000RF = 78,000,000RF.


Splicer – a mechanism necessary for grafting genes to larvae and pollen, but unlike the Inoculator, does not require Vector Bacteria for operation.

For its operation, it requires:

  • Polymerized flask with gene/ array of genes;
  • Larva/ Pollen;

Energy consumption: 60,000,000RF+60,000,000*n RF, where n – the number of genes in the array;

Working time: 30s.+30*n s., where n – the number of genes in the array;***

***For example, if the number of genes in the array is 1, then the energy consumption is 120,000,000RF, and the working time is 60s. In case the number of genes is 2, the energy consumption is 180,000,000RF, and the working time is 90s.


Acclimatizer – a mechanism that allows adapting bees, trees, butterflies, and flowers (Botany) to different biome conditions. It can change the susceptibility of bees, butterflies, and trees to humidity and temperature, and flowers to soil acidity, temperature, and humidity.

The chance of successful acclimatization depends on the selected item:

Temperature:

  • Fire Powder – 50%
  • Blaze Rod – 75%
  • Bucket of Lava – 75%
  • Snowball – 15%
  • Ice – 75%

Humidity:

  • Bucket of Water – 75%
  • Sand – 15%

Soil Acidity:

  • Ash – 50%
  • Mulch – 50%

Energy consumption: 2RF/tick;

Working time: depends on the resources placed.
