Greetings, CubixWorld players!
In this guide, I would like to share my knowledge about one of the main add-ons to the Galacticraft mod on the Galaxy server – Amun-Ra.
All achievable celestial bodies of the planetary system of the star Ra belong to the 3rd level: Gor, Baal (moon of Neper), Sekhmet (moons of Maahes and Sif), Anubis, and the asteroid belt Mehen.
Each object of this star system is unique, and their main features are outlined below.
The planet Gor – a planet of obsidian and lava with many treasure rooms, where you can find rooms with chests blocked by spawners. The chests contain various resources, as well as spodumene and clusters of nanobots. It makes sense to fly to get obsidian, emeralds, and uranium in large quantities. You can also mine rubies and lead.
The planet Anubis – a planet of dust and basalt. On the planet, you can find many villages with robot inhabitants. You can trade with them. The villages have platforms with Galacticraft solar panels, as well as energy storage and aluminum wires. It makes sense to fly to get gold, aluminum, and lapis lazuli in large quantities. You can also mine chionite.
Neper – the moon of the planet Baal – has a surface of grass, stone, and urbolite. The planet has oxygen. It makes sense to fly to get urbolite containing steel, diamonds, and gold in large quantities. You can also mine urbolite with fossils and emeralds.
Sif – the moon of the planet Sekhmet – is a planet with a frozen surface. There is a lot of snow and ice, and beneath the surface lies an underwater world. It is advisable to fly to obtain clay, snow, and ice in large quantities. You can also mine tin, copper, aluminum, raw silicon, and glowing coral (a decorative light source).
Maahes – the moon of the planet Sekhmet – is a planet of red soil, red trees filled with lumipod pulp, and red grass. It makes sense to fly to get lapis lazuli and gold in large quantities. You can also mine aluminum.
Mehen – an asteroid belt, just like in Galacticraft. You can mine diamonds, copper, tin, iron, titanium, lead, aluminum, emeralds, uranium, and dark matter.
The Amun-Ra add-on adds a shuttle – a transport that allows the player to move between the planet and the ship in orbit around that planet. It is not capable of interplanetary flights. To create a shuttle, you need to obtain its schematic. One way to do this is by defeating the boss "Mummy" in the central room of any of the numerous purple pyramids on the surface of the planet Gor.
Fuel for the shuttle is supplied using a Galacticraft launch pad. Fuel loaded into the shuttle is retained when dismantled, and takeoff can occur without a pad. However, make sure the tank is filled at least halfway. For two flights, the tank must be completely filled.
The most interesting part of the add-on is the spaceship.
Each player can create several spaceships in orbit around any celestial body. To create one, you need to launch from the surface of that body on the shuttle and have in your inventory 16 compressed aluminum, 24 iron ingots, 64 compressed tin, and 1 navigation panel. When the shuttle reaches orbit and the space map opens, you need to press the "Create" button. Accessing the spaceship, its name, and appearance can be configured in the Spaceship Configuration Panel. When playing in multiplayer mode, it is advisable to privatize the territory of the ship. You should not set /home on the spaceship. Instead, create a private warp using the command /warp set.
In orbit, all bodies (and the player) lose weight. You can run on the surface as long as there is support. However, without support, movement occurs only by inertia. Speed during free flight can only be changed with the forward/backward keys in the direction of your view, and up/down.
In the spaceship navigation panel, you can check key parameters: mass, thrust, and the number of blocks that make up the ship.
For flight, the ship must be equipped with engines. An engine is a multi-block structure consisting of bases placed in a row, at the end of which is a nozzle – only such structures are considered when calculating the range and dynamic characteristics of the ship. There are two types of engines: rocket and ion. The rocket engine uses fuel for its operation, while the ion engine uses nitrogen and energy.
The flight range of the spaceship is determined by the ratio of the amount of fuel loaded and the mass of the ship. The flight speed is determined by the ratio of the total thrust of the engines and the mass of the ship. The greater the mass of the ship, the higher the fuel costs for the flight. As the mass of the ship increases, the travel time also increases. If the estimated time exceeds 20 minutes, then you will not be able to fly.
To find out the weight of a block, you can use block scales. Their mechanism is very simple: they display the mass of the block above them in grams or kilograms.
After installing the engines and fueling them, you only need to start the flight. For this, in the navigation panel of the spaceship, select the destination planet, check if there is enough fuel for the flight, and click "Start!".
Important note: the timer in the navigation panel runs twice as fast, so after the flight is completed, you need to wait the same amount of time and sometimes perform an additional re-login to the server.
Do not attempt to exit the ship while it is moving. If you move away from the ship by a considerable distance during the flight, the player continuously receives enormous damage, which not every armor can withstand.
After stopping, you will be able to see the planet below the ship, the star above the ship, as well as any moons if they exist.
You can descend to the planet in two ways:
1. Jumping from the ship down after coming to a complete stop. This can be used if you have a means of flight; otherwise, you will crash upon hitting the planet's surface.
2. Descending in the shuttle by launching from the surface of the ship or using a shuttle dock.
Shuttle dock – a device for docking the shuttle, its storage, as well as for allowing the player to enter the shuttle. This mechanism must be installed so that there is a free space of 3x3 blocks on its reverse side. The interface of the shuttle dock has 1 slot and 3 buttons. The shuttle goes into the single slot. The "Dispense" button is responsible for placing the shuttle behind the shuttle dock. The "Retrieve" button performs the action opposite to the "Dispense" button. The "Enter" button moves the player inside the shuttle, after which the player can take off from the ship by pressing the spacebar twice.
Hydroponic system – a mechanism that allows you to harvest wheat and oxygen in conditions of an uninhabitable atmosphere. For the hydroponics to work, you will need wheat seeds, bone meal, and energy. First, place a wheat seed in the slot and activate the "Plant Seeds" button; then you can speed up growth using bone meal and the "Fertilize" button. Energy is supplied only from below, and the oxygen pipe connects from any free side. The minimum amount of oxygen produced is 0/sec, and the maximum is 6/sec. Since the oxygen bubble distributor requires 160 oxygen/sec for normal operation, you need to power and launch 27 hydroponic systems for it to work.
Radioisotope generator – an energy generator that requires nothing for its operation. An advanced radioisotope generator generates 10 times more than its simple version. The amount of energy generated depends on the temperature of the planet. The lower it is, the higher the performance of the generator. The most profitable for generation turned out to be the planet Anubis with a temperature of -400 °C* and ambient acceleration of 900%: there, the Radioisotope generator produces 5gJ/t, and the Advanced radioisotope generator produces 50gJ/t.
Nanobot multi-tool – a portable tool with 7 modes of operation: Workbench, Pickaxe, Shovel, Axe, Hoe, Scissors, and Wrench – switching between them occurs with a combination of Shift+Right-click. It works on battery energy. Enchantment can be applied on an anvil. The enchantment is preserved for all modes of the multi-tool.
Blaster – a weapon that ignites mobs. Deals 9 damage points. It can also smelt blocks in the world, for example: cobblestone into stone, sand into glass, clay block into hardened clay.
Frost beam – a weapon that applies a slowness effect on hit and deals 5 damage points. When a charge hits water, it turns it into ice, and when it hits lava, it has a chance to turn it into obsidian.
*It seems that the add-on implies a different Celsius scale than what we are used to.
Thank you to everyone who read this guide. I hope it was clear and helpful to you. Good luck in exploring space!
