In this article, we will tell you how to make tempered iron (steel) from the IndustrialCraft2 mod.

Tempered iron (also known as steel) - is an alloy from the IC2 mod that can be made using various mods. But if you only have IC2 installed, and there are no other options for creating steel, then this article is for you.

To manufacture steel using the IC2 mod, you will need a blast furnace. Here’s how to craft it:

The blast furnace operates on thermal energy, which can only be obtained using heat generators. There are 4 types of heat generators: electric, liquid, solid fuel, and radioisotope. The most efficient generator is considered to be the electric one, as it produces thermal energy from electrical energy. For its operation, electrical energy and 10 coils are required. Coils are very easy to create; below you will see all the crafting recipes.

In order for the heat generator to transmit energy to the blast furnace, they need to be placed next to each other and turned with the orange outputs facing each other. This can be done using a wrench.

To produce steel, you need to place iron ingots and capsules with compressed air into the blast furnace, which are made very simply. To create a capsule with compressed air, you need to place an empty capsule in the compressor.

And that's it, everything is ready! Tempered iron is created; it’s quite a long process, but unfortunately, it needs to be tempered.
