To increase the chances of soul drops, you need to enchant your sword with enchantments like Looting or Reaper. Souls are needed to fill automated spawners from this mod. Additionally, a soul can be used for a one-time spawn of a mob, but this is the most useless option for its use.

How to insert a soul into an automated spawner?

If you want to create a farm or grinder for certain mobs, you need to place an automated spawner of any level and right-click with the soul of the desired mob on it. After that, the spawner will start spawning mobs around it, whose souls you inserted into it.
