In this article, I will show the ways to obtain basic aspects for the research table in Thaumcraft 4.2.3.5

Method #1

One of the simple ways to extract aspects that does not require a large amount of resources for crafting - The Splitting Table

The Splitting Table reprocesses a specific block/resource into one of the aspects contained in it. Players often use crafting tables, as they contain all the basic aspects.

The first crafting method requires all essence shards from Thaumcraft; to obtain these essences, you need to reach the Strong Infusion Stone in the Magical Crops section:

Now let's look at the ways to obtain knowledge fragments.

The first method of obtaining involves breaking a specific block in the Ancient World, from which the knowledge fragment drops with a 100% chance; this block looks as follows:

The second method of obtaining is based on killing crimson mages (knights). They can be found by flying around the world and locating obelisks or by trapping them in a rage cage using Hellish Forks and an Empty Imprinting Crystal, which is studied in the Thaumonomicon under the Apocrypha section; I will cover this method in the next guide, which will discuss all available ways to obtain resources from mobs on TechnoMagic servers.

Method #3

For this method, we will need a thaumometer and kind players who can teleport you to their base for the purpose of studying all the provided items; this option is often used by players. If there aren’t any such players on the server, there is another way: aside from the thaumometer, revelation points will also be needed, type /rtp and search for aura nodes; by studying an aura node with the thaumometer, you will receive the aspects that the node contains (the amount of the aspect you will receive from studying the node will vary).

Method #4

Sustaining weed opens up in the Apocrypha section.

By consuming mana, it provides aspects to the player within its radius, most often basic ones like Terra, Aqua, Ordo, Ignis, Perditio, but sometimes also provides aspects that result from crossing basic aspects.
